RECYCLE THE FOLLOWING

Save in gallon jugs  
 Passaic County hazardous drop off  days (881-4506)
Appliances / Heavy metal     
CFC's must be removed   
  Call for pickup or bring to  recycling center  
Batteries (Lead acid - auto)    
Keep clean and capped 
Return to point of sale or to center
Batteries (Household)     
Store in vented jar / bag   
 Household hazardous waste day, or recycling center
Books Hard Cover     
Remove covers and package with junk mail and magazines  
   Leave curbside on your recycling day or to recycling center

Books Paper Back magazines  

Package with junk mail and magazines  
  Leave curbside on your recycling junk mail and day or to recycling center

Bottles/Cans/Glass/Plastic/ Tin/Steel and Aluminum Containers  

Commingle all containers 
Leave curbside on your recycling day or to recycling center 
Brown Paper shopping bags         
stack, tie and add to cardboard   
Leave curbside on your recycling day or to recycling center

Building Materials  (Concrete, asphalt, brick and wood)   

coordinate with private contractor for disposal 
Contact recycling office for a market
Clothing (reusable or new) center  
bag in manageable quantities
In bins at shopping centers or to  recycling

Corrugated cardboard    

empty, flatten, tie and bundle  
Leave curbside on your recycling day   or to recycling center

Grass

Just cut it and leave it  
Garbage contractor will not pick  up grass

Leaves   

For curbside pickup:   
Large biodegradable leaf bags during

months of April, May, October and November only.  

  Drop off at recycling center: leaves  must be debagged.

Magazines, junk mail, mixed paper, wrapping paper, telephone books           

   For curbside pickup: tie and bundle, or place  in brown paper bags

Newspapers

Tie and bundle. Keep separate  from other type papers. 
  Leave curbside on your recycling day or to recycling center

Paint Cans      

Latex paint - air dry to form hard crust throw in garbage. (Non hazardous)

Oil based paint goes to household - hazardous waste drop off   

Styrofoam Peanuts         

Box, or bag, clean foam peanuts  
  Bring to Mail Boxes, Etc. - 130 Skyline Drive
Tires     
Rim must be removed  
  Recycling center only - $3.00 fee   per tire.
Used Motor Oil      
Uncontaminated used motor oil in capped oil jugs
   To Borough service stations accepting motor oil or  recycling center
