Tax Collection
The Tax Collector is charged with the responsiblity fo receiving and collecting all taxes and assessments both current and deliquent. The Office of the Tax Collector bills and collects taxes quarterly. Taxes are due February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. The tax bills are sent out once a year in late June or early July. These bills include four stubs - one for each quarter. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve your obligation as a taxpayer.
We offer a ten-day grace period. After the grace period, state statute requires interest for overdue periods date back to the first of the month. We do not send reminder notices. You may pay your taxes by mail, in person or online. If you pay by mail, we receipt your taxes based on the day we receive your check, not the date written on the check or postmark date.
