"Roads" to Ringwood


 


Ringwood sits in the Ramapo Mountains, and is loaded with lakes, parks, and forest trails. Geographically, it is about 40 miles northwest of New York City, and a few miles due west of Suffern, New York. Towns around Ringwood include West Milford to the west, Mahwah to the east and Oakland & Wanaque to the south. Ringwood is located in the area sometimes known as the "Highlands". Lastly, Ringwood is located at Latitude 41 06 48 North and Longitude 74 14 45 West. Our elevation above sea level varies widely but is generally between 300' and 900' above sea level; The lakes are around 300 feet while Skyline Drive peaks at around 900 feet at its highest point.

Directions from New York City:
Exit New York City via the George Washington Bridge and get on Route 4. Take that to Route 208. Take that to 287 South and get off at exit 57. Once you are off the exit, bear right to go over Skyline Drive. This takes you over the Ramapo Mountains; Skyline Drive is about 4 miles in length. At the Ringwood end of Skyline Drive, you will enter one of our main shopping areas. The trip from the George Washington Bridge to Ringwood is about 25 miles in length.

Directions from points north:
Take the 87 south to 287 south and get off 287 at exit 57. Once you are off the exit, bear right to go over Skyline Drive. This takes you over the Ramapo Mountains; Skyline Drive is about 4 miles in length. At the Ringwood end of Skyline Drive, you will enter one of our main shopping areas.

Directions from points south:
Take 287 north to exit 57. At the bottom of the exit ramp, make a left and continue on Skyline Drive to end (about 4 miles); make Right onto 511 N. Greenwood Lake Turnpike, continue 2 miles; make Right onto Sloatsburg Road, continue 2 miles; make Left onto Margaret King Avenue, continue 300 yards to Municipal Building on right.
