SMALL CITIES HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM
PROGRAM SUMMARY SHEET
INTRODUCTION
The County of Passaic has received $400,000 from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs as part of the federal Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program. The Passaic County Small Cities Housing Rehabilitation Program is designed to assist low and moderate income homeowners to correct interior and exterior code violations in their homes.
ELIGIBILITY
The program will be open to all owner-occupied, single family homes in the following twelve (12) communities in Passaic County: Bloomingdale Borough, Haledon Borough, Hawthorne borough, Little Falls Township, North Haledon Borough, Pompton Lakes Borough, Prospect Park Borough, Ringwood Borough, Totowa Borough, Wanaque Borough, West Milford Borough and West Paterson Borough. To qualify, a major system (roof, electrical, heating, plumbing or sanitary plumbing and/or structural) must be in need of substantial repair and total household income for all family members over 18 years of age must fall within the maximum income guidelines based on family size as shown in the chart. There are no monthly payments for this deferred loan.

FUNDING TERMS
Up to $15,000 is available to eligible homeowners for approved repairs. One hundred percent (100%) of total assistance will be provided in the form of a zero percent (0%) interest Deferred Loan. Full payment of the loan is due upon sale or transfer of the property.
