Welcome to Ringwood, New Jersey
Welcome to the Borough of Ringwood’s official website. Situated in the “heart of the highlands”.
In 1918, the voters of Ringwood approved the formation of the new borough by a vote of 133 to 1. Five weeks later, the voters elected the first borough officials - a mayor, six councilmen, an assessor, a collector, two constables and a justice of the peace. - Ralph Colfax, 1981 Natural Resource Inventory
Ringwood is a beautiful place that is centered around community, is host to State Parks, lake communities, hiking trails and watersheds that provide drinking waters to millions of New Jersey residents. What really makes Ringwood special is its residents, we are a diverse and accepting community. Diversity presents an opportunity for each of us to learn about one another, to broaden our horizons, and to appreciate differences across race, ethnicity, gender, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, age, ability, political preference and more.
We welcome everyone to come to Ringwood to explore our great community.
